World Veterinary Day is celebrated in the last Saturday of April every year throughout the world. This year it was celebrated in 28th April with the theme Antimicrobial Resistance.
Antimicrobial Resistance is a common burning issue these days in pharmaceutical & medical sciences both in humans & animals.
Day started with a walk which was organized at 9 am morning in University of Veterinary & Animal Sciences Lahore where tribute was given to all veterinarians & people attach to this field. Walk was headed by Vice Chancellor Prof Dr. Talat Naseer Pasha. During walk Prof. Pasha inaugurated one day Free Veterinary Treatment Camp organized by Vets Care Club & also inaugurated Vets Care Organization Pakistan Medicine Bank whose purpose was to provide free medicines to poor people & to deal emergency cases especially in night that came in outdoor. Moreover a seminar was also organized by Vets Care Club in conference hall of university where Prof. Ashraf & Prof. Khushi Muhammad discussed on Antimicrobial Resistance & its importance. Moreover Dr. Mohsin Ali Bhatti speech on the topic ‘I am proud to be a VET’. At the end Prof. Dr. Ijaz Ahmad Patron Vets Care Club & Prof. Pasha pay a great tribute to veterinarians of all time & their efforts in bringing this field to top.
Apart from this Vets Care Organization also arranged a public awareness campaign in different community parks in Lahore where pamphlet were distributed among public.
Moreover the campus was beautifully decorated that day & different charts, posters & banners were attached all in & out of campus.
